I agree with Flowerpot on your previous blog - Venice. Daphné du Maurier went there (and used the name for something else that escapes me); the red shirt was a gondolier's shirt; the pictures in the scaffolded room were high on the walls to avoid floods, the pictures of the trees in their Four Seasons referred to Vivaldi, who lived in Venice.
