Great Day

Today was great for two reasons:

1. We put the "great" back in Great Britain, doing what we do best - selling the brand Britain to the world. Catherine looked elegant; William looked handsome and in love; the Middlestons looked every bit as good as their Royal inlaws (in fact better - what on earth was Beatrice wearing on her head? It looked like she had had a head-to head clash with a stag) ; and the pageantry was the best GB Ltd can deliver. Even the weather, forecast to be dire and thundery, tried its best to shine at the end of the ceremony.

2. I got through another of Greg's birthdays without him, admittedly helped by the distraction of the Royal wedding. He was here in spirit though - he would have been 62 today.

Well done, Addy. The GREAT bit was their decision to have a wedding on your day of pain!

Well said. I have been very cynical about it all but I was still very proud and caught up in it yesterday. And a great diversion for you too.

I thought the Royal Wedding was a splendid occasion too, Addy. To see such obvious love between those two young people inspires hope for the future of the Royal Family.

I hope Greg's birthday held many special memories for you. x

Agree with you about Beatrice - I know nothing of fashion but I do know that looked a disaster - I thought she must have misread the invite as fancy dress and gone as a deer or something.

We do do that pomp thing well don't we? Those Royals are good for UK plc, and we all come out of a wedding feeling that much better...and glad that Greg is not forgotten...

Wasn't it a fabulous day Addie. I echo all you said. The young couple seem to be a genuine love match so hopefully their marriage will be a long and happy one. I thought the Middleton family outshone the royals fashionwise and Catherine looked every inch a duchess, so poised and regal. I loved every minute.

Glad for you too that you had such an event to help you over another "milestone". A x

Oh yes it was a wonderful day, poor Beatrice and Eugine, whoever helped them with their outfits wants shooting.
Glad you got through another of Gregs birthdays.

I'm glad you enjoyed the day too Addy - birthdays are hard to deal with aren't they? But I found teh wedding a good distraction too. So lovely to see a couple so in love.
