My Cup Runneth Over

Results day and I am pinching myself in case I am dreaming. I know many of you have been kindly keeping fingers, toes and anything else crossed for Kay over the last few days, so I won't beat about the bush. She has got amazing A-level results (after convincing herself and me all summer that she had failed.) So here they are:

A for Maths
A for Biology
B for Chemistry

What is more, the university has confirmed, accepted, definitely agreed it (pinch, pinch - nope, I am not dreaming.) SHE HAS DEFINITELY GOT A PLACE. Ooop North. To study medicine. There, I can even say what she is studying now. I did not want to jinx things before, by even mentioning it.

This has got to be the best news of the year, of the decade, of my life. Thank you everyone for being so patient with me up to now and for supporting me. I really appreciate it. Yayyyyyyyy!!!!!!

Wow! That is amazing news! Well done, Kay!

And Rosiero, you must be so proud of her. I am so pleased that she made it despite the difficult circumstances she has had to live with. She really deserves to be congratulated on a fantastic achievement!

My daughter is away for a few days and apparently says she will get the AS resuts when she goes back...no urgency...obviously not expecting good results then... My sons few gcse's he's take early are due 27th I think and we'll be away and again he's not bothered..bit of a damp squib here then...

I've been thinking about you and your daughter all flipping day - desperate to hear her results!

How wonderful!

Many, MANY congratulations to her. She's clearly a bloody genius with these results, particularly with everything that she's had to deal with.

You must be SO proud, and rightly so.

Here's to you both :0)

Thank you all for your kind words.

Doglover - Greg is genuinely delighted and has phoned nearly everyone in our address book from Australia to Germany. (Thank goodness we can make cheap calls!) The trouble is, the calls have got more incoherent as the day progressed!

FFF - I wish your children all the best. They are all under so much pressure these days.
